where's my fuel pump relay ? 1986 dodge 600

Postby niceold600 » Tue Mar 17, 2015 2:15 am

hi

having an intermittent issue on start-up where i can't hear the fuel pump cycle and, of course, when that happens the engine cranks but won't start.

can anyone tell me where the fuel pump relay is located on this 1986 dodge 600 2.5 litre automatic ?

if i find power coming out of that relay, is it safe to assume that the problem is with the fuel pump itself ? if so, it looks like the fuel tank will have to be dropped for the fuel pump re & re ?

i don't have a manual to help me (will rectify that asap).

thanks for any advice you can give.

If ur timing belt is broken, u won't hear fuelpump either.

To check if ur fuelpump operates, remove back seat and under u will see wires ( black and green if I remember correct)
Extend some 12volt +&- f.e. from sigaretlighter or just from battery.
only to see if it runs.
If something isn't working properly, computer will not give power to fuelpump, just for safety reasons.

Good luck And keep us posted here

Do u have spark at Sparkplug?
