1983 LeBaron T&C convertible Travel Info Computer

Postby Chas1963 » Fri May 29, 2015 4:02 pm

I just purchased an '83 T & C convertible. The car has 65,000 but has been sitting for the past 7 years. The Travel Info computer is blank. The fuse is not blown. To add another Hmmmm to the mix...I and two mechanics have looked up under the dash for the connection to the OBD diagnostics...and cannot find it.

Is there a chance the "brain" was removed and the car is converted back to an older model? Is that possible? The reason I ask is because that was the fix for my 1977 LeBaron with the 318 Lean Burn. Take off the computer and put the "old" distributor in.

Things that make you go Hmmmmmm

Thanks!

Thanks! The 1983 Service Manual lists procedures for testing/diagnosing the trouble codes with the key. On/off/on/off/on and watch for the flashes. No flashes...ever.

Any pointers why the Engine light comes on and stays on? I flushed the radiator, new antifreeze, new relay. The light is still on.
