Wow, that's pretty sweet. Too bad it's so far away... I'd like to see how they did the swap.

It's not a sole surviving anything if the engine wasn't put there by the factory. It's also going to be fun explaining to anyone doing emissions testing why the Vin says 2.2 or 2.6 and it has a 3.0 in it.

Karl, my guess is probably it's very similar to the 3.0 late 80's new yorkers and maybe the parts were even robbed from one. Not very much changed in those years even though it was an AC body.

In California, evil CARB encourages the swapping of newer motors into the body, so it does meet smog specs. But, EVIL CARB I think has made it illegal to put an older motor in, say a rebuilt V6 from a Dodge Dart.

Guys, lets not rag on this one. You'll never see another one of these again. Got an email today from a potential buyer. She seems pretty oblivious and
thinks she should pay less than $1000 for it. I wanted this car to go to a good home, but were probably going to lose it from the club. Not enough people interested in saving these cars, let alone even being a club member. They'll be sorry in 2020.

Yeah, the motor isn't what I'm curious about itself, it's the wiring done to support it since that car was originally a carbed one.

I'm not ragging on it. It's still just an average 83 E class, it's worth saving but it's not too special just because of that V6 thrown in there. (That makes it less desirable to me.) Also, may have "Slightly" overheated and needs a hose? As a non running car that may have a bad engine, it's a pig in a poke. If they want to sell it, price it reasonably so the average K car lover could even have a chance at saving it.

Karl, Indeed, although with a good donor car it's probably just a matter of lots and lots of work. If it's a 3 speed trans it's a bit easier.

I see. Car does run. Owner put only 4000 miles on it since it left the club. However, I doubt she did any proper maintenance on it, letting it overheat.
