Running rich ruins compression?

Postby 89ARIES » Sat Mar 03, 2012 4:00 am

I had never thought of this before, but now it is much closer to home for me than I'd like. Does an engine running rich cause the cylinders to get ruined
since gas washes away the oil? Then, your screwed. I guess driving a car rich one week drops PSI from 150 to 140, and then the inevitable begins.
Now I guess there really is no guarantee that changing the oil will make an engine last 300,000 miles. Kinda sucks.
