Postby wipala » Wed Oct 02, 2013 8:29 pm

I have a 1988 Lebaron conv with a 2.2....I have installed new batt, new plugs, new plug wires and a new fuel filter
but I can not get the car to turn over..When I try to start the car it will crank but just not turn over to start the
car...any ideas I might pursue to get my beauty back on the road.....
thanks in advance for any help....

I have a similar problem 85 caravelle. Spraying seafoam into the throttle body turns the engine over, but only until the seafoam. S burnt up. Haven't had much time to work on it lately.

Interesting, I'm having the same problem with my 82 Medallion 4dr. If I spray starting fluid in it will start and run a few seconds so I know it's a fuel issue.

I'm going to read the fuel link above, but if anyone has any suggestions post away!

Thanks!

Then it is most likely the fuel injector or pressure regulator but could be a hand full of items linked to the computer in line that provide input to start the car.

You could try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and then reconnect to try and reset the computers.

Well, it's an 83 2.6L so it's a carb car, but as for the battery it has already been disconnected for just over a week before I tried to start it the last time.
Thanks for the thoughts!
