'86 Lebaron GTS Turbo repair

Postby koroshb » Mon Mar 14, 2016 9:27 pm

Hey guys! This will be my first post on this site. I've got myself an '86 GTS hatchback that I will be removing and rebuilding the turbo on. Ive got a factory repair manual and a bay in my dad's auto repair to myself (I sound like a spoiled kid don't I). The procedure listed in the manual seems simple enough, and I've got my dad's expertise to back me up.

What the point of this post was that I meant to ask what I should look at or replace once the turbo is off the car. What should I check? What should I replace while the car's apart?

Thank you guys!

P.S. this was written on a phone, so excuse any typo's or grammar mistakes

Hi
Well if nobody else chimes in I'd like to welcome you to the site, the '86 Lebaron is a nice car, all I can add to your repair is look around while you're into it...oil leaks, general wear and tear etc. If you don't like what you see fix it.....
Follow the manual directions especially about thread sealant on the turbo bearing water jacket connections, ditch any suspect hoses and replace with new....have fun!!
