I have a 88 Chrysler New Yorker with a digital dash and the back lights for the display went out. My grandmother was using the car for church and grocery shopping and with the infrequent use the battery went dead. She had a neighbor jump the car and I'm pretty sure he stuck the cables on the wrong way, ever since then - no dash. The information is still there: speed, fuel, odo, oil, temp, you just can't see it unless its really dark outside. The information center lights up and works just fine.
I'm somewhat descent with electronics and good with a soldering iron so I took a look at the boards. The capacitor at C12 was bad and the resistor at R66 was almost burnt in half. I got the capacitor replaced but I'm not sure what the value of the resistor should be.
I would also like to know what the pin-out is for the two dash connectors.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
-Donny
