1982 Convertible top colors?

For a Christmas gift to myself I ordered the book "K-CAR Convertibles 1982-1986" by Don Narus.

It is stated in the book that only white tops were available in 1982. Just wondering if this is true fact as my car is white with a black top.

Granted I do not know the history of my car ('82 Lebaron w/Mark Cross interior) from day 1, but I do know the history for the past 30 years and it has about 70,000 miles on it. Top is in somewhat worn and faded condition, rear window has fold lines, and some minor cracking/tearing around the silver tips along the top's back edge. Every indication is that this is the original top.

Anybody have a factory statement/order form/option list that states that white was the only top color available in 1982?

Thanks for the info.

Probably be replacing the top in the next few years and will leave it black if that was the original color.
