Hi
I need to get 2 tires for the front of my 88 Reliant.
The ones on the car right now are 195/70/R/14 but I cant find any replacements in that size.
I have found 2 used tires in the size of 195/60/R/14.
Would it be OK to use the 195/60/R/14's as replacements?
Thanks a bunch
Jim

Jim the second number is a ratio of the width of the tire to it's height This means that your current tire's width is 70% of it's height. So going to a 60 means it will be slightly narrower than your current tire. So you'll not be running into any tire clearance issues that's for sure. Mike

Maybe you can't find the tires because they are the wrong size? According to what I have looked up they should be 185/70R14, unless it is the version with 13" tires which would then be a problem in finding tires.
Bought 4 new tires for my '82 Lebaron less than a year ago and I found a least 4 tire stores in my town that could get the correct size 14" tires and went with Hankook Optimo H724 for about $50.00/tire installed with a coupon I had. Hankooks Optimo even has the narrow whitewall if you need that option.
