I could take a bath in the engine bay, bit I wouldn't want to get it dirty. A perfect specimen.

so will my 86 K wagon in a few months......after a $10,000 restoration....ouch!

my parents had an 88 K sedan. regularly got 32mpg thanks to the lockup converter and 2.78FD. it wasn't exactly quick with the 2.2 and automatic, but it ran great. bet that 2.5 makes up for the soft gearing (the 3.02FD from the wagon was an option on the sedan). also - roller camshafts were new in 1988 and 2.5's got them first! (88 had the most aggressive cam timing of all the roller cams too)

the paint was 200.00 and I had to pay my cousin 300.00 for spraying the car, I did all the sanding and prep work, I must say that the 2.5 makes this lil thing a torque monster. I drove a customers 50,000 mile original car identical to mine accept it was a 2.2, the 2.2 had no power compared to my 86 2.2 I still say they went down in horsepower in 88 to 93
