Noob from Arkansas

Postby 82Lebaron » Mon Jun 04, 2012 11:33 pm

Hello all,
Wanted to drop a line and let all of you know another one has been saved from the crusher. I'm normally a Ford guy but I couldn't stand to see this go...it's a clean '82 Lebaron Convertible that has been sitting due to a blown head gasket, the previous owner disassembled it and never finished the repair...seems all the parts they removed were lost and it sat for the last 10 years. A friend of mine called me last weekend to tell me he was getting ready to crush some vehicles he had bought for scrap and this little jewel was among them...we worked out a quick trade and I ended up with it. I would like to get it running but finding the necessary parts may take a while....K cars are not that common around here. Hopefully the link below works, I have uploaded some pics to photobucket...enjoy.

From another newbie..WELCOME!!
To save yourself some headaches (pun not intended) I may suggest locating a complete good running motor to plop in.
Finding all the odd kibbles and bits can drive a man crazy,IMHO.
Another popular upgrade is installing a later model EFI powertrain. It will take some extra work, but worth it in the end.

Hope this helps.

Thanks...I'm looking at an '85 New Yorker with a 2.2 Turbo that's been wrecked...I can get the complete Drivetrain, Fuel system and Computer/Wiring for very reasonable....may go that route instead of trying to find the old Feedback Carb and such....those never impressed me much anyway.
