Back again after nearly 2 years....

Postby RichG » Sun Jan 06, 2013 3:06 pm

Hello, Guy, and all of the K car fans I havent spoken to in a while. RichG from New Jersey, here, bidding you a Happy New Year and all that. I never sold the LeBaron after the storm damage two years ago, and it's currently sitting under a collapsed temporary shelter inmy driveway. Recent wind and snow caused my shelter to cave. I wont be able to get to it til spring.

I have a real dilemma, now. I have been searching everywhere for a replacement windshield for the convertible. OEM part #4097507 and/or subsequent replacement #472320. Absolutely no luck. I have scoured the web; no new or used glass company in the country (even Safelite giggled at me) seems to have this. I still have hopes of preserving this car but now think I'll have to find one wrecked and ready forthe big K-kar rest stop in the sky to find a windshield.

If any of you guys have an Idea, can set me on one somewhere, I'd be much obliged. I'm willing to take my chances on Shipping it from anywhere, provided I don't have to sell a lung.

All the best to you and yours. You keep the K-car alive./

RichG (and the funny thing is, I remembered my password after all this time.)

Hell Rich! Welcome back. Good news. A classic auto shop in Pasadena, California can replace your windshield. Let me see if I can
find the name.

That's great. I know shipping is dicey, but I'm willing to take the chance. There's nothing on the east coast.

Try this used parts search engine. It seems to have multiple listings of the windshield at various sites.

A local glass shop that I've used in the past was able to find ten (10) windshields in stock in Indiana. It took them 10 (ten) minutes. I am personally amazed and grateful. Now I can't wait for spring. (its a grand total of 6 degrees here).....

Thanks for your help, (again). and Thanks, Guy, for your dedication and perseverence to the cause of the K Car.

Vive la Chrysler!
