1987 Plymouth Reliant LE Wagon, 2.5L TBI help?

Postby SgtSylund » Mon Jan 07, 2013 5:53 pm

I bought it last month - 91,800 miles. The TBI wiring insulation is brittle and badly cracked. A previous mechanic hacked the grounding wires into the TBI harness. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the TBI? My new repair manual should be here this week!

I got the TBI harness wrapped up Monday night with successful results. I salvaged my connectors, soldered in new wires, and shrank on heat shrink.
I took a few pics along the way that others may find useful. Here's a link to my photobucket: http://s1291.beta.photobucket.com/user/ ... tory/26929
Here's what save my life: http://minimopar.knizefamily.net/ecu/index.html -INCREDIBLY helpful!!! If you have a 2.2/2.5L, it's a must-have bookmark in your browser!
So around midnight, I get the fresh TBI wiring harness snapped in and take it for a test run... The bastard runs out of gas! the 20 minute walk home was long enough to quit cussing though. Gased up the next morning and it runs much better now (with repairs AND gas - heh!). Still have to replace O2 sensor and speed sensor to eradicate error codes 15 and 51 and maybe run smoother!
