Hello, I'm new here today.

First off.... Thanks for all the info and the invite, Guy!

I guess about a month and a half ago we purchased a 1984 Plymouth Reliant for my daughter's first car.
It was purchased from her Great Grandparents, they were the second owners.
The Reliant is in pretty good shape and has about 64,000 miles on it (if memory serves correct) AND the A/C even works!
It is running pretty fair at this point, other than it failed the CA Smog test this past Monday. I had a couple of "visual" issues and the "sniffer" picked up on high NO at the pipe.
Have a few things to work on this weekend and hope to get it passed next Monday.
I am in the Southern California area - around 70 miles East of L.A.

I look forward to looking around the forum and maybe meeting some of you this weekend at the Spring Fling (I hope the projects on the car allow me to make it!)
Take care and see ya around.

UPDATE:
Well, it took a while but we got her to PASS SMOG today!! :D
Something for anyone who has failed because of a high "N.O." reading.......check the operation of the EGR valve.
Had replaced and passed with flying colors!

Take Care All!

Nice, I was a little afraid of my car's high NOx readings, I have a new EGR valve on the way, 25$ shipped from Amazon and I plan to have the catalytic converter swapped out soon as my car was originally from Connecticut! Hopefully all goes well!

Just noticed your June 19th post sorry.
Great that all is well for your K.
Enjoy driving it and thanks for the tip on the EGR valve.
