88 Aries 2dr 5spd howdy

Hey all the name is Mike I love in Columbus, Ohio I have a ice blue Aries coupe 2.2 with an A525 I'm the 3rd owner. I got it with 74k pampered miles, uhh now has 117K in original motor and clutch. Still drives great but is burning oil and front seal leaks. I plan on driving it until it quits but until then I'm driving on. ...

From 1987 to 1989, Chrysler used the 520 and 555 in all their K based products that got a 5spd, so your 88 Aries should be a cable shifted 520 unless someone pulled a switch. the L bodies (Omni, Rampage and Charger) never got anything better than the old (weak) rod shifted 525 (Chrysler using up old inventory and saving on tooling change costs on their cheapest models).
