In California, if you don't have the smog part, you don't get to keep the car unless you jump through bureacratic hoops. Smog reps sometimes lose their business, go to jail, and get fined $1,000,000
for faking smog tests to help the poor people that can't afford a new car. I know of a few places where you pay the techs $100 to smog the car, and they make it pass, no matter what. But, these poor
people are getting cracked down upon by the C.A.R.B people. Expect to spend $500-1000 sometimes to get carbed Ks to pass smog here.

It was just replaced by a very shady shop. The guy claimed it was clogged. About 3 months ago. There were 20 cars sitting in the front. Should have been a clue to flee, which I did after a few days. They were suppossed to be a good electrical shop, NOT!

Not people yet but the EPA has been considering taxing farm animals in regard to methane gas.

What you should probably do is change the vehicle that you use for your primary transportion - this one is probably pretty much worn out and does not justify dumping more money into it. I don't understand why you bought a K-car with a 4 cylinder NA engine in the first place if you want to drive it like you have a performance car. Maybe its time to upgrade to something that will provide a little more performance (with a turbo or a 6 cylinder or an 8 cylinder).

With 20" of vacum at idle, I wouldn't say the car's worn out. I'd buy the car for the old lady since she drives like granny anyhow. Road test with my scanner showed the cars still in desent shape, TPS voltage seem low at .66 compared to my Turbo's .90-1.00 volts. But I don't kmow the specs for a TBI motor. His stumbling at decell is intermitent, but the ECU corrected the fuel trim and recovered nicely. My 2.2 went 250K mi. with 18 PSI of boost at the end. Still ran when I pulled it. Of course every seal had been blowed out.

Thanks to you Butch, for the first time in 2 years, my car had zero cutting out on the freeway and was finally starting to feel safe again it today. Just the intermittent thing. 8-)
