Get a new book. 89 and up is a better engineered engine - stronger block, thicker cyclinder walls, stronger bearing caps, roller cam followers, balance shafts, lightweight pistons, etc.

You don't know shit, 89 was the yr they made the common block motors- MUCH STRONGER. No way in hell would I have anything older in my car.

"Fast" is relative. A 2.5 is not fast in the grand scheme of all things automotive, but to someone who has never had a V8 car or anything faster for that matter, it's "Fast". Also, burying the needle of a car with an 85 MPH speedo is no great feat...

So far as fast goes, Non turbo K cars are adequate. Nothing more, nothing less.
