carb swap- now surging idle-egr?

Just swaped a rebuilt Mikuni on to my 1981 Aries 2.6 and it drivea good with tons more power but it surges at idle like its super lean and misses slightly throughout the range- runs smooth during the cold / choked part of start- surge begins after warm up-sub egr is working correctly could my main egr be stuck open? Anyideas would be great!

Sorted a number of small mistakes in my carb instal but still have a surge at light throttle

After a few more hours of fussing it turned out my newly rebuilt mikuni was really poorly rebuilt and had a stuck float so it was dumping tons of gas- also had a faulty mixture screw and torn gasket- guess thats why it was cheap... used some parts from it for my old carb and the car runs mint now
