Government Sponsored Distruction

Government Sponsored Distruction

Postby jt1911 » Tue Aug 04, 2009 4:09 am

Anyone that hasn't already seen the senseless destruction of viable vehicles on YouTube needs to log on and watch it for themselves.I personally watched the videos of a Toyota truck,Olds Aurora and a Volvo 850 having the sodium silicate solution poured into their engines and ran at full throttle until they siezed up.Now I'm not a big GM or Toyota fan {I do have a weak spot for Volvos } but that's not the point.Any one of those cars was better than the 95 Escort I currently drive. And that Volvo video was absolutely heartbreaking! That turbo motor held on and ran with pedal to floor for longer than any of the other cars. It's like rewarding vandalism.Granted, every car aint cool like my 5 speed Aries coupe. But every running car has a use.And to deliberately destroy it is wrong. When this program first began I was worried about what would become of all the old K cars.Fairmonts and Monzas that I grew up with.Well, turns out most of them aint eligible. That's good. But what's going on with other perfectly useable cars is bad! Sure, there aint much cool about a 4 door Cavalier, but somebody needs it!
On a seperate, but related not I sold new/used cars for several lots since the 90s and I can tell you that the majority of folks who drive these "clunkers" do so for a reason.Either they can't afford a car payment, they have bad credit or both{like me}Many times a salesman or manager will jump the gun and "put someone in a car" before the deal is done or"bought" by the finance company. Then the deal falls through several days or even weeks later and the customer has to return the new car and take their trade back. This is a fairly common occurrence, especially at big volume lots.Well what will these customers do when they return to find that their old car has been turned into a 3,000 lb pile of junk?
Anyway,I could go on for hours.Just remember that your compassionate Democrats along with president Muhamed brought you this carnage.Along with 10% unemployment',Fiat/ChryslerGuv'ment Motors{Kill Pontiac ,the only cool GM product} a racist Supreme Court Justice,And Guv'ment healthcare is right around the corner.Has anyone priced a handgun or ammo lately? Man,that Volvo video was like watchin' somebody beat a horse to death. It just kept on tryin' till it was done. What a bunch of assholes!

Thats why I am so angry at this CFC. I won't rant about the obvious reasons, except for the most important one. Obama is forcing us to destroy perfectly good engines that can be used
for resell. This wrecks the used auto parts business and pick-a-part as half their revenue comes from the resell of engines. Many dealers make more money and would prefer to resell good
condition trade-ins. I wager half the existing 80s Lincoln Towncars will now not be resold. Wow, you will have wasted shells of cars taking up football fields with
no viable parts. Since CFC is now upon us, like it was in Europe, will we see used auto parts skyrocket and a lack of cheap used cars, at least those 15-20 years old, for the working class. Granted, at
the moment it is only for "gas guzzlers that get 18 or less", but thats not the point. People's greed and willingness to enslave themselves to debt for that new car forces us to pay the ultimate price in taxes
for CFC programs and I know many of us here on this board will be mad when they start destroying K-car engines this way. This engine euthanasia must be stopped!

As a side note, I had thoughts about supporting dealerships with the resale of used K-cars, or at least encourage them to do so. But, since now they are run by the government
and use the CFC, that idea is out of the question for me. I would rather support the junkyard or the used auto parts salesman. As long as CFC exists, there is no way I am ever going
to buy a new car from a dealership or support them in any way. Besides, the dealership is probably full of corruption and I can't afford to take that chance with a lemon. Nothing personal,
except I will in no part be a supporting player to the forces that are squeezing our used car market into oblivion. However, we should feel sorry for those that are swamped with paperwork,
angry foolish customers, and the car euthanasia they must perform. Personally, most customers applying for CFC I hold accountable since they are acting irresponsibly, wasting money, and
not thinking of where the money they are using is coming from.

I think the file was too big.If you wou l email me and tell me the tricks I would get right on it.
Don't worry about offendin' me with regards to the car bidness.I haven't been in that since early 07.I was lookin' for an escape then.I tell everyone I know that if you have to buy a car new or used go to Carmax. They may not have them out west yet,but it's the best thing goin' around here. They put the price on the window and they go by NADA.The price is what it is and the only question is "Do you want it?"Seriously, they take all the bullshit out of the buying process.
Anyway, like I was sayin' if yall can help me I will get the pics posted.Hell,I still have all four original hubcaps! I don't want to violate ing,but policy or anything, but yall can talk to me anytime at debbra2540@gmail.com.I feel like most everyone on here has to be good people.I'm just used to using Volksrods.com.They used VBulletin which made it easier for me to post pics.No disrespect...
So when will there be a show in the South, say Georgia,Florida,SC,NC ?

Please do not make ridiculous statements like that. It's just stupid and silly, no where near that many will be destroyed, there were well over 1 million produced and there are still many out there, and CFC is destroying 80% trucks and SUVs. Don't make such blatant untrue statements like that becuase it annoys the hell out of me.

I understand the post about the Towncars. There is no way for us civilians to know how many Lincolns are headed to the crusher. The point here is that accor ding to the rules of the legislaltion not so much as a taillight lens can be salvaged from these condemned cars.I know by reading some of the rules and by news reports that yes,it is mostly SUVs from the 90s.But it's also some really sweet rides of all makes and models.I personally don't care whay happens to a 12 year old Grand Cherokee. But at the same time I know there's some poor broke bastsard like me that needs a motor or tranny for his broke down Cherokee. And this legislation just made it that much harder and more expensive for said poor bastard to get one.
My car sellin' experience tells me a few things about this program.First of all,as I stated earlier more than half of the people trading their old cars in under this program aren't credit worthy. So even if their deals stay together a great many of them won't have the new cars for long.See,these are what we used to refer to as "secondary finance" customers. And in the mid 90s they represented huge profit margins for most lots. They would and did sign up for interest rates in the double digits, sometimes up to 29%! Well that house of cards was fine while it lasted. As long as the buyers kept paying. But most of them didn't and all but a few of the secondary finance companies folded.
Lesson here is most of these people aint "car people" Hell, most car salesmen aint car people. And if you aint a car guy then it don't matter what the car is.These are shallow, short sighted immediate gratification type people who will soon regret the new Kia in the driveway. It's funny to me that the only one of the big three reporting a profit is Ford. That probably offends Obama since he has no hooks in them.I can sum it up by saying that this is typical behavior for the " me first " type of voters that elected Obama .

im going to have to say this, but i give credit to ford in todays world, they have managed to build a small and reliable car, the focus, the focus is like the K-car in the 1980's they made thousands of them and chrysler made money, seems to me ford has another Iacocca working for them.

Actually I read that the Focus loses money for Ford for every one they sell. (or at least the previous gen did, maybe they're making profits with the new 2008+ models)

The new one are much more nicer than the old ones, they even added a sedan coupe and replaced the hatch back sedan. And you still can get a 5 Speed in them which is what every cay in todays world should offer.
