After driving that 82 Reliant yesterday and watching this vid
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_vq2zTeDri8, I learned something fascinating about the older, now nearly extinct, K-cars. They have stronger SHEETMETAL! Its true, at least I think it is so. Voice your comments. Reason I think its so is because when you slam the doors, they make a resounding steel sound. The front doesn't have that awful awful fiberglass fascia that chips and cracks. My car is covered with mysterious metallic waves and a few dings (really p""sses me off). Had I had an 83 K, I am sure there would be almost no dings. Push on the sheetmetal, and you will notice less flexing. They went CHEAPO on the last K-cars and made the metal on the trunk way to thin, at least on mine. What are you experiences? I am sure 1 of 10K can attest to this. Also, the 81s and 82s have something I love, METAL DASHBOARDS!!
