Why do carbureted cars fail smog so easily? It can be a nightmare to smog an early 80s K car.

It is quite simple actually even though the K's have a computer controlled carb it is easily fooled into thinking the car needs more gas than necessary so it dumps to much fuel into the carb that the engine burns regardless resulting in smoke and poor environmental ratings. If it burns it smokes as they say. You can in fact buy new carbs for K's that have better computers that are fooled less easily! Just a tip for your Carbed K's.
