hello all...

i found a web page that if you scroll down, you will see a beautiful maroon k wagon that has a complete SRT-4 powerplant installed. from the other pics, he has obviously converted to a 5spd judging by the 3 pedal arrangement out of a manual k car or other k based vehicle from 81-95. the swap would require a neon trans (placement of starter) unless he did a hybrid install using just the top end of the srt motor. the srt-4's have a hydraulic clutch. also, the stock dash has all the silver accent and goes good with the srt-4 cluster massauged in (very clean install) and the aftermarket gauges and switches don't look too out of place either. judging by the wheels (16 inch lebaron "lace" rims?) the brakes and suspension have received the better factory parts to hold all that power in check. this has got to be the coolest (and fastest) k wagon out there after Cliff Ramsdell built his spirit R/T package converted to 2.5 (372hp/417lb-ft at the wheels) sleeper a few years ago. it makes me wish i had money to spare....these people rock!!!

sorry...i was in a hurry and didn't even get it listed.....was actually a different web page, but the same car. thanks for helping me out. this car is really slick, but i would have gone with daytona shelby suspension parts, a 91+ k frame and knuckles with Spirit R/T brakes (similar to the srt-4 package but has vented rear disc) because the cables and hoses route differently on k based vehicles vs. neon's which have independent rear suspension. that and several other bits, but it shows you can recycle an srt-4 wreck with some ingenuity. but without the shelby suspension (hd rear axle and big front sway among other things) it won't handle well like the srt-4.

I love to take a ride in that, now I'm inspired to find a wrecked SRT-4 Neon.
