If people on this forum don't learn how to fix these cars, there won't be any left to have a natioanal event. Hell, even the club founder don't know how to use a screwdriver.

Hi!

Sometimes all you need is passion and the rest will work itself out.

I don't think that we should be talking trash about our founder, or at least

not in any of my posts, please.

Thank you.

Charles.

How can we have our own National when we have over 1400 members and only $100 in the Club treasury ? SAD. Only 16 k-cars at the last meet ??? Club President is doing a great Job, But felllow members need to show more support. I'm All for having our own National. But that is going to cost about $200 a member for the event. I'm committed but how many members are really committed ?

Here we are in 2017. I cannot even get an answer about how something in the forum works and I'm a paying member. At least my K-car runs!

Hi
Any of us who still give a darn about these cars feel your pain ....I've been in the collector car world for years and I'm actually trying to do a full restoration on a K car ...aside from the chuckles I get from a few of my car buds I think I'd have an easier time restoring a '29 Essex than this K car ....there are still bits and pieces roaming around in the aftermarket parts world but other than that there is no support for these cars ....this club is one of the last bastions for these cars and our poor pres is tearing his hair out trying to save the few K cars that are left which could be why he's not tending to the website that well. Be happy that you have a running example of these terrific little cars and be patient with the hope that things will get better. Where I am there are no more K's to speak of and the two that I have I dragged out of wrecking yards, one was shortly before it was going to see the loader jaws (it is now a reliable driver) ....so I'm sure that once I get the restoration finished and get it out to a show I'll be the only K car there and I'm sure I'll get some questions. My driver has already gained some "nostalgic" comments from folks who either owned them or their parents owned one so things are happening. These cars are outside of the normal rule of thumb in the collector world where the twenty year mark usually starts people "looking" the car surrender programs and the willingness to crush eighties cars have definitely taken their toll ...the days where a car sat out in the "back forty" for years before being "saved" are gone so the danger is that these cars will have left the scene before gaining any kind of "collector status" which makes it even more critical that those of us who have them need to keep them and I do believe it will be worth it!!!!!
Anyhow as far as info I try to help out where I can and there's a few other fellows that do peruse this site who also help out with questions etc. about the cars so keep your chin up!!
