Hi from France ...

Postby ben240 » Mon May 19, 2014 7:39 am

Hi everybody !!!
My name is Benoit (or Ben) and I'm living in the north-east of France near the Luxembourg (where I'm working). But I come from Normandie ... I am 46 years old and as far as I remember, I've always been passioned by cars especially "Youngtimers". I owned several models (about 35) since my driving licence exam in 1986 !!! I owned Imperial Le Baron 1970, Cadillac Eldorado 1984, many Mercedes (240D, 280SE, 420SE, 500SE, 450SLC), Citroën CX, GSA and a lot of Volvo. Actually, in my toys'box, I've got a Volvo 240 Estate 1991, a Volvo 244 GL D6 1980, a Volvo 480S 1992, a VW Golf cabrio 1983 and a Rolls Royce Silver Spur 1985 spécial Edition.

My K-cars is a Plymouth 600 which has been sold in Bruxelles (Belgium) in november 1987. I suppose that it has been built several months before this date. I don't know exactly the quantity of Plymouth in Europe, but 3 years ago, I saw one for sale in Belgium ...
My car arrived in France in 2001. This model has never been imported in France, and it would be the only one in France !!! I own a rarity !!!!!!! It was made for Europe because the meter is graduated in km/h. I founded it at 5 km from my house in september 2012. The old man who imported it in France, didn't want it any more. The car spend one year outside. It was really dirty with many little things to do (tires, bushes, schock absorber, tie rod and a problem with the steering colonn). I started to work on it and discovered many rust problems (floor).
Now, my car is partially dismounted in order to be repared. I am looking for parts and advice !!!!! It's very difficult to find parts for this car even if they are common with Chrysler Le Baron ou Dodge 600 and it's even more difficult to find for a Sedan which has no interest for most europeans dealers and US Cars professionnals !!!

I am sorry for my english !!!!

Regards,
Ben

I did research on my car and founded that it had been sold in Canada as Plymouth Caravelle but nothing on Plymouth 600. All officials documents I have mentionned Plymouth 600 but perhaps it's a mistake between Belgium and France. It is not rare that US cars change of spécifications because of a civil servant !!!! In France, they are unlivable when you want to homologate (approve) a US car (because of differents specifications, for example, it took me 18 months in 1999 to homologate a 84 Cadillac Eldorado and third rear stop light was strictly forbidden in France until 1995 !!!!! Lights are a real problem. You must have a bulb for turn signal (an orange one), one red for brakes and one for main light at the rear of the car. Until 1998, side makers were forbidden). They can make mistakes on papers but you have to keep silence otherwise you'll never keep your car on the road again !!!!!! Shut up and pay.   ADMINISTRATIV DEFICIENCY.

Thank's a lot for your advices and informations ...

Hello Benoit. Do you think you can make us a driving and body inspection video? That would be so cool. 8-) You can email me a link to aries89@chryslerkcar.com, and I can upload it for you.

Hi,
A driving experience would be impossible because the car has no front face, no front wings, no wheels, no more interior, ...
I send you pics by Email to show you ... I don't have a Facebook registration or count (yes, it's possible !!!) . It's easier for me to send by mail ...
