Your car is absolutely stunning. Probably the nicest early K sedan I've seen since these cars were new. You should be commended for doing such a fine restoration on this rare car.
I was coming out of the lliquor store this afternoon after picking up my Guiness for St. Paddy's day and there was a Reliant sedan parked out front! I couldn't find the owner (store is in a strip mall), but it was a later model because it had the rounded off nose and rear end. It was dark metallic grey with a light grey interior. The fender emblem said it was an LE It had a "K" emblem on the trunk. What years did they have the "K" back on the trunk? I know they did this with the '81's, but I thought Chrysler had discontinued the at some point. The car was in pretty nice condition overall, but had some dings along the passenger side and the paint was a bit faded. But it appeared rust free. Not many of these left in Connecticut.

i can answer the K question, 1981-1982 were the early years for the K emblem, and then in 1983-1985 they got rid of it, thats how i can tell a 85 from a 86 aries or reliant, and in 1986 the K returned to the trunk.

I have been resoring, customizing, and detailing cars for over 40 years; I owned a high end Detail Shop in Beverly Hills for over 7 years. So whenever I say that any particular automobile impresses me, that is automatically saying a hell of a lot! This 'beautiful K-Car' truly impresses me, and I feel like it is a total exercise in extracting beauty from timeless design. On a scale of 1 to 10, this literally scores a "PERFECT 10" in my book!!!
Congrats!!!

Thanks everyone for all the nice comments! The '81 wasn't in this condition when I got it, it was in the process of slowly being beat to death by someone as a work car!. Now it gets to live out it's "life" in a garage with my '82 Reliant sunroof coupe.

I need to take and post some. The 2.2 is in reasonably clean condition, replaced the flimsy ragged and torn '81-only cloth accordian hose that ran from the air cleaner to fender intake with a '84 2.2 rubber hose, other than that and the older black undercoating on the firewall and fenderwells, looks fairly nice.
