Oh by the way 88AriesWagon, in California its total opposite. We have tons more 80s GM products then K-cars. K-cars are the minority here. At first I was surprised to find 82-84 J bodies, but now I am a little disgusted to be seeing WAY more 80s J bodies and X bodies than Ks. Buick Skylarks are not very hard to find here. And Ford Tempos, give me a break. They say Tempos were very bad, but I see 84-87 models a couple times every week! Meanwhile, the K-cars have been dramatically reduced 50% since 2004. 4 OF THEM end up in a pick a part every freaken two weeks! Pisses me off. Almost no X bodies end up in Pick-a-part. Ks have all but disappeared here in the San Fernando Valley, except for poor areas of LA. Citations, not too hard to find here at all. A lot of the Skylarks are in amazing solid condition and they seem to get in a lot of accidents over here. I know of 3 of them that had 25mph collisions and are still being driven a year later. Must be the bad X body brakes. There was a crazy accident here a year ago where an 83 Buick Skylark crashed into an 80s Ford LTD at 30mph. The LTD was shorten 3 feet. The Skylark suffered only a bent in bumper (solid 5mph bumper). A year later, I noticed the owner finally bent it back into position. A little coupe. The 80 Skylark near my house is still running after totalling the front end at 25 6 months later and another brown Skylark just surfaced a few blocks away. Skylarks are the easiest X bodies to find here and are very tough. Whats this about X bodies being unrealiable? They are solid tank boxes and I would chose them as my 2nd favorite car next to the K. I love the Omegas even more (uh oh, I know I am a Mopar, but I can say what I want as president) Most forums won't tolerate people liking other cars. Don't get me wrong, I still love Ks the most, but they should have given them metallic bumper covers like the X bodies. Thats one thing I would change. Oh, I forgot, we have an Oldsmobile Omega at school from 1984 that has been hit at 25 TWICE! and is still being driven by a faculty. She gets laughed at for having the audacity to drive a 25 year old GM product in a school where 80s cars are almost nonexistent here in the parking lots now in 2009. And another Skylark just surfaced in the school............
and excuse my ranting. I will be quiet.
